Have you noticed something strange over the last few months?
Emails, LinkedIn posts, X comments, even good old WhatsApp messages sound suspiciously classy and extra polished. Suddenly, everybody is writing as if they cooked a premium edition of Wren and Martin for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. People who once struggled to write a decent leave letter are now typing out 250-word customer visit reports with flawless grammar, perfect punctuation, and a vocabulary of the Oxford Dictionary. Everything is extra polite now, sprinkled with words like “transcendent,” “resonates,” and synergy.” If you ignore the fact that half the sentences say the same thing three different ways but all in flawless English, it is perfect in all respects. It would seem as if the nation had collectively enrolled in a secret convent school for a crash course with Dr. Tharoor!
I am used to “plz send best and lowest offer by tmrw” on WhatsApp.
Then I get an email like this:
————————————————————————————
Respected Sir/Madam,

May I humbly request you to share the commercial proposal, along with any relevant details you may kindly deem appropriate?

Would you like a version that adds a touch of deference or gratitude at the end or sound even more elegant or slightly informal?

I am not complaining, just reflecting on how AI can impact our daily life and how quickly it gets absorbed, but let us not forget it is artificial after all.
